I’m a member of the Netflix Canada #StreamTeam and receive compensation for these posts in the form of a Netflix membership and streaming device. Of course as always, my opinions are my own. That said, I’m happy to post about Netflix goings-ons because if you know anything about me, it’s that I watch a lot of TV. Like, A LOT. I might have a problem. But I think I’m OK with it.
A lot of new shows to watch on Netflix this month. There aren’t enough hours in the day I tell you. But there are just some things that the kids will have to wait for (clean clothes, clean dishes etc.) (I kid) because I’m definitely going to be spending some time watching some really great stuff. I used to have a bedside table full of books to read. Now I have a Netflix to-watch list a mile long.
Because I’ll watch anything with Brad Pitt in it. It’s the story of General Glenn McMahon who was given a mission to end an unpopular war. I love a good insightful war movie, so I’m looking forward to watching this one. Do I think Brad Pitt is fantastic in pretty much anything he’s in? Pretty much. Also the trailers are hilarious so I just have to check it out.
Because everyone needs a really bad/good sci-fi movie in their lives once in a while.
Because zombies. Except, this time it’s child zombies who don’t want to eat your brains, but totally want to eat your brains. This one is based on a book which I got about half-way through. It was good, but since I got it from the library, I had to return it before I had a chance to finish it. I really need to pick that one up again.
This Oscar Winning film has been on my to-watch list forever! I’m so excited to watch it, but I’ve got to do it when the tiny humans are in bed or at grandma’s house or something because I really want to focus on this without having to pause it a million times.
As a Canadian, this is an interesting show for me to watch because it shows a side of the black American experience that is very different from the one I experienced at the Canadian College and University that I attended.
Because if you’re not all caught up on Scandal, then what are you even doing with your life?
Because everyone, regardless of whether you are a Mad Max fan or not, needs to see this movie. Cinematically, it’s the most beautiful movie I’ve seen in a very long time. And it will take one heck of a movie to beat it. Don’t think too much about the story (it’s basically one long car chase) or the characters (although Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa is basically the best thing I’ve seen since Ripley in the Aliens Franchise), watch it for the makeup, the costumes, the cinematography, the practical special effects, the music. It’s that good.
The Andy Whitfield Story. If you were ever a fan of the Spartacus series, then you need to watch this film. A documentary chronicling the journey of the actor who was diagnosed with cancer while starring in the show. They had to replace him as the lead Spartacus, and fans around the world were devastated when we learned of his eventual fate. This film shows us what he and his family went through.
