Crossed is the second book in the Matched series. As annoying as I sometimes (usually) find fiction geared towards young adults, I’m actually really interested in finding out where this story is going. The first book, Matched, was much better than the first. Matched had all the markings of a good “what’s going on in this dystopia society” type book, which I love. The second one, however, felt like nothing much happened that couldn’t have happened in half as many pages. It was a really long segue to the third book that (I hope) will have all the answers I’ve been waiting for. I need to know what The Society is up to and what The Rising has planned. Again, the angsty teenagers make me want to yell at them to pull themselves together, but that’s to be expected with these books. Still, here I am reading them. I’ll be happy when this series no longer has such a grip on my gullible sci-fi soul.
